By attending ICSCRM 2027, all participants agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct.
ICSCRM 2027 is committed to providing a professional, inclusive, and harassment-free conference experience for all participants. We welcome attendees from academia, industry, government, research institutions, and the wider semiconductor ecosystem regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
All participants are expected to contribute to an environment that encourages scientific exchange, professional collaboration, and respectful discussion.
Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or inappropriate behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
This Code of Conduct applies to all conference activities, including technical sessions, plenary talks, poster sessions, exhibition areas, workshops, networking events, social functions, online forums, social media interactions related to the conference, and all interactions between attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, organisers, volunteers and venue staff.
Why This Code Matters
ICSCRM is one of a leading conference for silicon carbide and related materials. Its success depends on creating an environment where researchers, engineers, students, industry leaders, investors, exhibitors and policymakers can exchange ideas openly, professionally, and safely.
This Code of Conduct establishes clear expectations for respectful behaviour, protects attendees from harassment and discrimination, promotes scientific integrity, and safeguards the intellectual property and confidential information that underpin innovation within the global semiconductor community.
1. Treat Everyone with Respect
Treat others as you would wish to be treated.
Participants should engage professionally and respectfully, even when discussing differing technical opinions, research findings, methodologies, commercial approaches, or competitive technologies.
Constructive debate is encouraged. Personal attacks, inflammatory comments, dismissive conduct, intimidation, or discriminatory behaviour are not.
All participants have the right to attend and contribute without fear of harassment, discrimination, humiliation, or exclusion.
2. Professional Scientific Conduct
ICSCRM 2027 exists to advance knowledge and collaboration within the silicon carbide and related materials community.
Participants are expected to:
- Act with integrity in all scientific and technical discussions.
- Respect differing viewpoints and evidence-based debate.
- Acknowledge the work and contributions of others appropriately.
- Avoid misrepresentation of research, data, results, affiliations, or qualifications.
- Participate in discussions in a constructive and professional manner.
- Support an environment that encourages the open exchange of ideas while respecting confidentiality and intellectual property rights.
Disruptive behaviour during presentations, panels, poster sessions, exhibitions, or discussions is not acceptable.
3. Photography, Recording and Media
Many presentations, posters, exhibition displays and discussions may contain unpublished research, proprietary information, confidential data, or commercially sensitive material.
Accordingly:
- Photography, video recording, audio recording, live streaming, screen capture, or reproduction of presentation content is prohibited unless expressly permitted by the presenter, author, exhibitor, or conference organiser in advance.
- Any permission granted applies only to the specific content authorised and must not be assumed for other sessions or materials.
- Participants must comply with any photography or recording restrictions communicated by speakers, exhibitors, organisers, or displayed on presentation materials.
- Official conference photographers may be present. Attendees who do not wish to appear in conference photography should notify the organisers.
Failure to comply with recording restrictions may result in removal from the event.
4. Intellectual Property and Confidential Information
ICSCRM brings together researchers, innovators, and companies developing leading-edge technologies.
Participants must:
- Respect the intellectual property rights of presenters, authors, exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees.
- Not reproduce, distribute, publish, photograph, record, or disclose technical content without permission.
- Respect confidentiality markings, embargoes, and restrictions identified by presenters or exhibitors.
- Not use information obtained at the conference in a manner that infringes intellectual property rights or breaches confidentiality obligations.
- Clearly distinguish between publicly available information and restricted or unpublished material.
The conference encourages knowledge sharing while recognising the importance of protecting intellectual property, commercially sensitive information, and unpublished scientific work.
5. Speak Up and Report Concerns
Harassment and inappropriate behaviour are not tolerated.
Participants are encouraged to raise concerns if they experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct.
If you feel uncomfortable, are being harassed, observe inappropriate conduct, or have concerns regarding safety, discrimination, intellectual property misuse, or other breaches of this Code, please contact a member of the conference organising team immediately.
Conference staff will investigate concerns and take appropriate action.
6. Prohibited Conduct
Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Harassment or discrimination based on any protected characteristic.
- Offensive, threatening, abusive, or intimidating language or behaviour.
- Unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact.
- Deliberate disruption of presentations, discussions, meetings, poster sessions or exhibitions.
- Stalking, following, intimidation, or unwanted photography or recording.
- Misappropriation of intellectual property or confidential information.
- Recording or photographing content in breach of conference policies.
- Deliberate interference with exhibitors, presenters, demonstrations, or equipment.
- Any conduct that creates an unsafe, hostile, intimidating, or unprofessional environment.
Participants asked to stop inappropriate behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
7. Enforcement & Support
ICSCRM 2027 reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove any person from, the conference or related events at its sole discretion.
Where organisers determine that a participant has violated this Code of Conduct, actions may include:
- Verbal or written warning.
- Removal from a session or event.
- Cancellation of conference registration without refund.
- Removal from the exhibition or sponsorship programme.
- Exclusion from future ICSCRM events.
- Referral to venue security or law enforcement where appropriate.
The conference organisers’ decisions regarding Code of Conduct matters are final.
Conference staff can assist participants in contacting venue security, local authorities, medical services, or other support resources where necessary.
All reports will be reviewed seriously and handled as confidentially as reasonably possible. While every concern will be considered, organisers reserve discretion regarding the nature and extent of any investigation or action taken.
